In Creative Tech Tools, families will discover how they can invigorate their home instruction with engaging technology resources. We’ll explore several apps, digital tools, and virtual field trip experiences that have been curated just for co-learning families. Let’s explore safe and fun ways to get creative with technology at home!

About Creative Tech Tools

Reimagine learning on a whole new level inside the Creative Tech Tools Working Group! How can we integrate more exploration in learning so we are building our children’s curiosity as well as confidence? And how can we have more FUN doing that? Let's discover that together! 

This experience will consist of the following topics and tasks:

  • Strategies to find and integrate excellent and budget-friendly digital resources into meaningful learning experiences
  • Tips to help you navigate digital tools with confidence
  • Opportunities to apply your new skills in partnership with your children
  • Parent Coaching to inspire you to explore digital tools safely and without exhausting yourself

By the end of our work together, you will have a treasure trove of digital instructional options that increase student choice, engagement in learning, creativity and imagination, and celebration. Discover your inner-instructional superhero!!

This Working Group is appropriate for parents with children of all ages, including preschool through 12th grade.

About Cate Tolnai

This working group facilitator, Cate Tolnai, is also co-author of “Power Up Your Classroom: Reimage Learning Through Gameplay” (ISTE, 2019) available as a complimentary text on this topic.

Cate Tolnai supports educators and leaders as Chief Learning Officer at BUOY Consultants and Adjunct Faculty member at the Krause Center for Innovation at Foothills College. She has been in education since 2002, and brings her experience in classrooms and as a site, district, and county administrator to each of her projects. In 2019, she co-authored the ISTE publication highlighting the impact of game-based learning, "Power Up Your Classroom: Reimagine Learning Through Gameplay." Her passions for innovative learning and good ol’ fashioned FUN define her approach as a coach and instructional leader.
